ROBOTS LIVE COMES TO LEEDS! - Friday, 6 July 2012
The UK’s most spectacular robotic show – Robots Live! – arrives at the Royal Armouries Museum later this month as the highlight of our first-ever Robot Weekend (July 21 and 22).
Experience the likes of Behemoth, Big Nipper, Terror Hurtz and Storm II thundering around the arena in this action-packed live show, formed as a spin-off from the hit TV show Robot Wars. Enjoy shows on Sunday only, at 12.30pm, 1.30pm and 3pm – pre booking highly recommended.
Also see Star Wars’ actor Kenny Baker– of R2D2 fame – make a personal appearance on the Saturday, followed by photo opportunities with the 501st Legion of Stormtroopers.
These will be just some of the highlights when robot nuts and techno-heads of all ages invade the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds for the chance to play, build, explore and have a go.
Or on a more serious note, explore the ethics of using robots as weapons of war – and discover career opportunities within the robotics industry.
Museum director Peter Armstrong said, “This promises to be a really exciting weekend, and a huge hit with both robot fans and families looking for a unique day out. The Robots Live show has had great reviews, and is guaranteed to thrill audiences.”
The Robots weekend is the first of three special themed weekends at the museum this summer – followed by War Games (August 4 and 5) and Tournament Jousting (August 25, 26 and 27). Museum entry is free but charges apply for the Robots Live show (£5 adults, £3 under 16s).
