Kobudo

Kobudo is a traditional weapons martial art from Okinawa (Japan), in which students learn to use the Bo (Staff), Sai, Tunkuwa (Tonfa) and Nunchaku.

One of the oldest martial arts systems in existence Kobudo is taught according to the disciplines and principles of the masters from the Ryukyu Islands.

Students train in a black and white ‘Gi’ and weapons for beginners are provided.

Classes are taught by Sensei Michael Clayton.

Time

The club meets every meets Tuesday and Sunday.

During the First World War Germany built the longest-range gun ever. Its 100kg projectile travelled 122km, and left the muzzle at 1500 metres per second reaching a height of about 40km. About 6 times faster and higher than a transatlantic jet.
