Appointment of Major General Sir Sebastian Roberts KCVO - Thursday, 17 February 2011
!>http://www.royalarmouries.org/assets-uploaded/images/source/DCMS-logo2.png!(DCMS) Major General Sir Sebastian Roberts, KCVO has been appointed by Her Majesty as The Queen’s Trustee on the Board of the Royal Armouries, with effect from 5 February 2011.
Sir Sebastian was commissioned into the Irish Guards in 1977 and went on to be Commanding Officer of the 1st Battalion of the Irish Guards in London and Northern Ireland.
He was appointed Major General Commanding the Household Division and General Officer Commanding London District in 2003. In 2007, he became the Senior Army Representative at the Royal College of Defence Studies and retired in 2010.
He was Colonel of the Irish Guards from 2008 to 2011, when HRH Prince William of Wales took up the position.
This appointment is not one which is regulated by the Commissioner for Public Appointments.
