Construction

‘Battenberg’ type but built with the four blocks set at a 45° raking angle

Head: Slightly tilted
Legs: Front left leg raised; Right back raised but still touching the base

Distinguishing Features

Neck: a good butterfly joint is visible on the right hand side of the neck
Mane: to the left. Slight undercutting of the hair
Teeth: individually carved

Endoscope:
Inside the body cavity looking towards the head it is possible to see not only the tool marks left by the carvers but even the wood grain of the oak.
