Construction

Carved from one block; back of head removed.

Type of Wood

Identified as not oak

Appearance

Stripped and varnished. No evidence of ears or facial hair. Longitudinal crack through corner of left brow adjacent to nose.

Paint Analysis

No evidence of original paint finish remains – this may indicate that it was stripped more thoroughly and effectively than the others.

This head has also been identified as possibly representing Henry VI. However in the current exhibition it is shown as Henry VII.
