Galleries
The galleries at Fort Nelson are located in the converted main Barrack Rooms and show the development and history of artillery.
The key gallery aims are to show:
- The importance of artillery in world history.
- The extraordinary technical skill shown in the production of artillery, and that the earlier pieces are no less sophisticated for their time than ‘modern’ pieces.
- Technological development.
- Guns as a vehicle for decorative schemes.
