Use our global collection as your passport to discover the world in these 90-minute cross-curricular sessions. Patterns in art & design from across the world are explored through printing, textiles, weaving and metalwork.

Our collection is ideal for exploring conflict through time. We offer a wide range of sessions ranging from object-based sessions in our Education Centre which focus on original objects, to handling replica objects in the galleries.

It is an unpleasant reality that humanity has spent large amounts of time designing for doomsday. We have been engaged in a race to perfect some of the most extraordinary weapons and cultivated the conviction they are acceptable to use.

Explore identity and cross-cultural exchange in contemporary and historical arts in Britain, Europe and the wider world.

A specialist art handling collection is available for students to use, including vintage and antique military uniforms, civilian fashions and ephemera. All sessions include objects from our handling collection and are accessible to all ages and abilities.

By exploring the past your students will discover real life issues that directly relate to their daily lives and most importantly how they themselves can influence change at an individual, local and global level.
19. KS3: Slavery, Chains and Chinoiserie
Explore & discuss the causes and long term consequences of the trade triangle across the globe and through time by appraising artistic styles like chinoiserie & artefacts financed by the transatlantic slave trade. Includes art workshop.
20. Immunity from Seizure
Part 6 of the Tribunals, Courts and Enforcement Act 2007 provides immunity from seizure for cultural objects which are loaned from overseas to temporary public exhibitions in approved museums or galleries in the UK where conditions are met when the object
21. The Golden Ticket
This summer take full advantage of the museum by booking our specially designed day trip for playschemes, scouts, guides, groups and extended schools services. All activities are suitable for ages 7-13.
22. Leeds Hippo Project
This project was organised by the University of Leeds and funded by the HLF. It was designed to encourage local families to engage in this little known Leeds treasure.
