Studies Through Time
Few organisations can offer the range of objects and resources we have available for students of Change Through Time.
- We have a ‘Hands On’ approach with original and replica artefacts
- Our handling collection ranges from Medieval to Modern and includes arms, armour, and costumes.
- We use a variety of visual and archival sources
- We examine the key turning points in change over time.
- These specially constructed sessions take an overview of the key changes and can be used as an introduction, or as revision.
- Includes a twenty minute presentation, using contemporary images, followed by an interactive handling experience with original and replica objects.
Crime and Punishment
- The development of self defence, crime and punishment from the medieval period to the 20th century.
- Considers the role of the army and the development of police forces as a means of enforcing statute law
- Examines changing attitudes to punishment over time.
Weapons, Wounds and Medicine
- Considers the treatment of those wounded in war in the light of the emerging understanding of surgery and the control of infection and disease.
- Examines the impact of War as a factor of change
- Uses the Crimean War, Boer War and First World War as examples of Turning Points in the development of Medicine.
To Book
- All sessions last 60 minutes, for a maximum number of 30 students.
- Our sessions are £3 per student, with one adult free per ten students.
