Literacy and Language
We have developed Hands-On interactive sessions in our Education Centre using replica and original objects from our handling collection that can be drawn upon as stimulus for creative writing, poetry, map making or factual reports.

Anglo-Saxon heroic society as revealed through Beowulf’s story and his adventures with dragons
Sir Gawain and the Green Knight:
Examine the changing images of King Arthur and his knights
And new this year!
St. George and the Dragon
- Explore how stories & myths change through time.
- Investigate how St George has been portrayed world wide in portraits, books, poems and film.
- Discover the similarities between modern stories, by authors such as Terry Pratchett or C.S. Lewis
- Get to grips with armour, costumes and fearsome animals in a stimulating creative session.

- Our sessions are £3 per student, with one adult free per ten students.
