Pre-visit familiarisation
We strongly recommend that group leaders who plan to bring an education group to the Royal Armouries make a familiarisation visit first.
This can allow you to:
- Explore the museum’s layout and plan the logistics of your groups visit. Please use the maps and risk assessments provided in the Organisers Pack.
- Select the galleries best suited for your particular project and try out the gallery sheets.
- See the live interpretations and the gallery interactives.
- Plan in detail the use of the displays.
Your pupils will then benefit from your tailor-made tour!
If you wish to book a meeting with an Education Officer to further discuss your visit, please contact us to arrange an appointment. We are usually available after 3pm Monday to Friday during term-time.
INSET
We can offer a variety of INSETs depending on your needs and are happy to co-design a day with you. Please contact us for further details.
Gifted and Talented
You may be interested in an INSET day for co-ordinators of Gifted and Talented students. If so, we can offer you:
- 2 Day INSET for teams of teachers to explore the collection and design challenging tasks for extending and deepening learning.
- A tailor-made activity day for groups of Gifted and Talented youths and students.
- ‘It was the best INSET I have EVER been on!’ Recent feedback from a Gifted and Talented Co-ordinator.
