Conflict Through Time
The English Civil Wars are a turning point in the long-term changing relationship between Crown and Parliament, and indeed the development of arms and armour. Our object based sessions engage pupils as historians and help develop chronological understanding through this unique period of revolutionary change.
Hands On: The English Civil Wars
Suitable for up to 75 students
- Uses replica objects to and costumes to compare rich and poor.
- Develops a sense of period and helps build chronology.
- Engages interest and stimulates participation.
Analysing Objects: English Civil War 1642-1649
Suitable for up to 32 students
- Uses original objects to understand chronological change.
- Encourages teamwork to reach reasoned conclusions.

Suitable for up to 32 students
- A good introduction to different sources of evidence such as portraits and objects.
- Evaluate differences in contemporary interpretations of key figures.
- Examines the nature of seventeenth century warfare.
