KS3: Suffragettes

• Examine the Victorian & Edwardian idea of womanhood by analysing original & replica clothing, newspapers and ephemera.
• Explore the concepts of power and those who were excluded from it.
• Examine the Victorian idea of womanhood using original & replica clothing, newspapers and emphemeria.
• Understand the reality of the economic, legal and political status for workers in factories and nursing.
• Critique the different approaches utilised by the suffragettes when campaigning – peaceful and non-peaceful.
• Analyse attitudes about the role of women during Britain during the First World War and its impact on attitudes on the female franchise.

• This session lasts 60 minutes for up to 30 students.
• Our sessions are £4 per student, with one adult free per ten students.
