The Royal Armouries Museum currently displays over 8500 objects that tells real stories about the ways in which arms and armour have been used by our armed services.

To give your visit extra depth why not book a session held in the education centre. This will give your group the opportunity to get to grips with the kit, ephemera, weapons and armour of soldiers from previous generations.

Sessions can focus upon topics such as: the qualities of leadership, battlefield tactics or the experiences of soldiers during battles such as Towton, Waterloo or the Somme.

Armour Through the Ages

A fantastic interactive session with an opportunity to get hands on with replica and original arms and armour. This 45 minute session gives a general overview of the changes in arms and armour through time from the Medieval period to the twentieth century.

British Battles

Our extensive handling collection offers many avenues for investigation and research. These 60 minute taught seminars provide first hand study of original objects and archival material focusing on one of these conflicts, the weaponry, body protection and tactics.
