Become a French Secret Agent and spy on Jack the Navvy to find out who lived at Fort Nelson during Victorian times and why the Fort was built.
Hands on History
Using our handling collection, participants are transported back to 1873, the year works on Fort Nelson were completed. They will learn about the people who lived and worked at the Fort, from the hard living navvies to the tired old crones.
Become a spy for Napoleon III, Emperor of France, explore some of Fort Nelson’s 19 acres and plan an attack to take over! Discover the exciting history of the local area and the significant men and women, like Queen Victoria and Prime Minister Lord Palmerston, who helped to shape it.
