Daily Horse Shows

The Royal Armouries offers daily horse shows, a unique experience for visitors, from March to the end of October.

Entry to the museum is free but there is a small charge for entry to the horse shows.

Monday – Friday during term time 1.30pm

£1.50 Adults
£1 Concessions (3 – 15 years and over 60 years)
Free entry for children under 3 years

Saturday, Sunday and school holidays (weather permitting) 2.00pm

£2.50 Adults
£1.50 Concessions (3 – 15 years and over 60 years)
Free entry for pre-booked school groups and children under 3 years

Theme jousts and tournaments will be priced separately.

Royal Armouries retains the right to change performances at short notice and are weather permitting.

Visitors are welcome to visit the stables area: find out about our six horses, their care and the history of the use of horses in sport and war.


  • The Menagerie Court is named after the famous royal menagerie or zoo, which was housed in the Tower of London from the beginning of the 13th century until 1835. See here the birds and horses that you see in the Tiltyard shows close at hand.

Did you know?

The iron lady of India

The most famous 19th century female warrior was the Rani of Jhansi who recruited female gunners and troopers. She was often seen in the palace gardens controlling her horses with the reins between her teeth and a sword in each hand.
