HOORAY! HENRY’S BACK

To celebrate the return of Henry VIII’s world-famous armours to our Leeds museum we have organised a summer of Dangerously Entertaining events, culminating in a spectacular tournament over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

Come and see Henry’s new home in the newly opened Tournament Gallery.

Mass-produced steel

The first mass-production process for making steel was invented by Englishman Henry Bessemer. Rejected by the British his process was adopted by the German gunmaker Alfred Krupp, who became the most advanced armaments manufacturer in Europe.
