Remembrance Day Salute

World war one gun crew firing

10:30am Sunday 8th November 2009 - 4:00pm Sunday 8th November 2009 at Fort Nelson

First World War gun salutes fired by khaki-clad gunners using an original 18 pounder Field Gun – a veteran of the Western Front – from the artillery collection of the Royal Armouries.

The firings at 11am will mark the start and end of a two minute silence, after which a poignant presentation entitled When the Guns Fell Silent will take place, telling the story of those who survived the horrors of the Great War.

In addition, there will be other First World War readings and performances throughout the day.

Free entry to Fort and event.
