It’s a legendary children’s day out – and not only today!

This year at Fort Nelson, every Tuesday and Thursday during the Easter, Summer and half term holidays will be action-packed children’s days.

Event Programme

Armoured Assault!

For active younger visitors, why not have a go at our junior assault course, featuring a number of obstacles and activities guaranteed to work up an appetite! Plus, feel the ground tremble as our 26-tonne Sexton Self Propelled Gun is put through its paces!

Tank-tastic Workshops!

Get busy with paper, card, scissors and glue in the Education Room and you can make a camouflaged helmet plus an anti-tank bazooka for yourself.
£2 charge per child applies.

Dramatic Interpretations

For high drama, watch one of our dramatic interpretations, as our resident professional actors in authentic costumes tell tales from history – sometimes stirring, sometimes poignant, always dramatic!
These will be performed in the Theatre near the Powderkeg café.

Children’s Alphabet Trail

Explore the Fort – can you find all 26 letters? Collect a free activity sheet from the Information Point beyond the shop and follow the instructions – it’s a great way to see the Fort!
