Ann Green FMCI FRSA – Chairman

Ann Green was appointed Chairman of the Royal Armouries in April 2003. She had previously served on the Board for four years.

A former General Manager of the Northern Stock Exchange, based in Manchester, Ann started her business career in the Building Society movement, becoming the Nationwide’s first female Branch Manager by the time she was 30. After leaving the Stock Exchange, she was appointed Director of Communication and Training for Allied Provincial Securities, one of the UK’s largest stockbroking groups. Three years later, she moved to The Industrial Society as Director for Northern England and was responsible for transforming the business into a profit centre.

With wide experience of the public, private and voluntary sectors, Ann is a Director of a number of organisations including, Stag Security Services Ltd, Triangle Multi-media Eezycash Ltd, and the Heritage Education Trust. She is Chairman of Hadrian’s Wall Heritage Ltd, a company set up to improve the economy, visitor experience and environment from East to West Coast along this iconic Roman frontier.

A former Chairman of the British Broadcasting Corporation Advisory Council for the North and a member of the English National Forum, Ann is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management, Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Member of the Institute of Public Relations, Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, Member of the Aviation Club of Great Britain, Member of Mensa, and a Member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists.

Ann has well-established connections with the US and is a member of the Board of the Frazier International History Museum in Louisville, Kentucky and has been honoured as a Kentucky Colonel.
