Chris Walker

Chris attended Queen Elizabeth Grammar School in Wakefield and went on to read Classics at Oxford University, where he specialised in classical art & architecture at the Ashmolean. He subsequently qualified as a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Practitioner with Ernst & Young, practicing in London for several years before joining the Arts Council in Manchester.

He went on to lead the finance team at the National Theatre and was then appointed finance director at UK Sport prior to taking up his present position.
At University Chris had a keen interest in Archaeology and has excavated at sites across Roman Britain, including Castleford and Wroxeter.

His current interests include sailing, classical music and a passion for history.
